Celebrating Old & New in the Med

A very special anniversary spent discovering new experiences from Rome to Sicily.

Luxury Travel Advisor Polly Trapp arranged a special trip to Italy for her longtime clients. With Polly’s assistance, they found new places to explore in a destination they’d already visited.

Why This Trip?

Rome is the perfect starting point for an Italian adventure
Rome

Rome is the perfect starting point for an Italian adventure, especially to Italy’s southern coast. Before meeting up with the rest of the group, Polly’s clients spent a few days on their own in Rome. Having visited before, Polly made sure to arrange for fresh experiences and perspectives, whether a private tour or a romantic dinner. Luckily, the Eternal City has no shortage of landmarks, historical sites, and museums to explore, even if you’ve visited Rome before!

For centuries, Rome has been home to some of the most innovative thinkers and magnificent artists of their time. Aside from the stunning and ancient architecture, the city is brimming with creativity. From the frescoes adorning the Musei Capitolini to the modern works at Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, there is no shortage of art to peruse. And the meals are works of art themselves; simple, fresh ingredients combine to make the most memorable of dining experiences.

VIP Meet & Greet Planeside

To start the trip off right, Polly arranged for her clients to be met planeside. With this VIP service, you’ll be met at the gate on arrival, escorted through customs to your car and driver for a private transfer to the hotel. After a long flight, you will appreciate the details being handled, no matter how big or small.

Romantic Dinner with Views of the Spanish Steps

While in Rome, Polly’s clients stayed at the prestigious Hassler Roma hotel located at the top of the Spanish Steps. Working with the hotel, Polly arranged a surprise romantic dinner at the hotel’s top-rated Michelin-star restaurant, Imàgo. In addition to its iconic location and excellent menu, you’ll delight in the unique and unparalleled panoramic views of the city.

The Amalfi Coast region affords travelers spectacular views, glamorous hotels, and idyllic towns.
Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast region affords travelers spectacular views, glamorous hotels, and idyllic towns. Polly’s clients met up with their group here to continue their anniversary celebration for three nights at one of Positano’s most glamorous hotels overlooking the bay, Le Sirenuse, enjoying superb dinners that Polly carefully selected and reserved ahead of their arrival.

Polly always recommends that you spend a few days enjoying the remarkable natural beauty of the region and indulging in the fresh cuisine. The rugged coastline and turquoise waters form an idyllic backdrop to this 34-mile seaside region. Connected by one of the most scenic drives in the world, the SS163 Highway, each town in the region offers the same laid-back luxury with unique attributes of its own. Visit pastel colored Positano, the alpine town of Ravello, vibrant Amalfi, the secluded shores of Praiano or Minori - home to the oldest pasta in the world.

Private Tour of Pompeii

While the ultimate destination of the Amalfi Coast beckons, you would be remiss not to visit the magnificent architectural site of Pompeii. Polly’s clients took advantage of their private driver’s knowledge and access to enjoy a bespoke, guided tour of this iconic location.

Sicily makes the perfect center point for a Mediterranean yachting adventure.
SICILY BY YACHT

Polly’s group boarded their stunning motor yacht for a week-long sail around Sicily. The yacht comfortably accommodated the five couples in their own private staterooms allowing space for guests to relax and admire the picturesque scenery of the Mediterranean. The spacious sky lounge offered the perfect space for the group to admire the views and enjoy each other’s company.

The island makes the perfect center point for a Mediterranean yachting adventure. Enjoy snorkeling reefs, touring olive groves, and relaxing on beaches on the north shore in addition to exploring the island’s largest city, Palermo. Ancient ruins abound on the island, including the remains of a temple dedicated to Venus in Erice.

On the warmer, southern coast, you’ll find the famous Mount Etna. Embark on a private tour to the volcano’s crater or a leisurely train ride along its base. Also worth exploring are the smaller island groups off Sicily, the Pelagian Islands to the south, the Egadi Islands to the west, and the Aeolian Islands to the northeast.

Pre-Arranged Exceptional Experiences

Each day brought a new adventure. Polly arranged for the yacht to be met in each port by a local expert. The group toured ancient ruins and admired archaeological marvels with their knowledgeable guides. They stopped to eat in quaint trattorias, delighted in Sicilian picnics, and enjoyed free time to shop and wander through Sicily’s towns and villages.
